Imperial College London Diabetes Centre is now renamed Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC).
Its rebranding is due to its heightened focus on endocrine, metabolic, fertility, and obesity care besides diabetes.
Key Background :
Imperial College London Diabetes Centre was established in 2006 with the mission of providing quality diabetes services in the UAE. Operating for nearly two decades now, it has emerged as a reliable organization for nearly thousand patients with an untouchable reputation for delivering cutting-edge care, research, and patient education. Because of this, the centre has also begun treating patients with other endocrine conditions that are generally related to diabetes, i.e., thyroid problems, metabolic ailments, and hormonal problems.
In an effort to give more pertinence to the growing relevance of endocrine wellness, the center was later renamed and is presently operating under Imperial College London Diabetes & Endocrine Centre (ICLDEC) name. This is partly in acknowledgement of the significant contribution given by endocrinology to issues of general well-being as well as keeping the center capable of evolving and responding to the growing level of specialty care in the region.
ICLDEC has established four clinics in Al Dhafra, Abu Dhabi, and Al Ain, therefore, situating the centre within easy access of the emirate’s communities. Over 50 US and UK-trained endocrinologists at the centre offer specialist care for the management of a vast array of diseases. Its full-service model facilitates continuity of care, where patients suffering from chronic diseases receive chronic care as well as personalized programs.
The rebrand also aligns with Abu Dhabi’s vision of becoming a global leader in healthcare excellence. By expanding into endocrinology, ICLDEC is reinforcing its position as the largest specialised centre of its kind in the UAE. This step also strengthens its role in preventive care, particularly in tackling obesity and related health concerns through advanced medical therapies, surgery support, and lifestyle interventions.
Over the course of the next two years, ICLDEC would market its enhanced services in November at the Diabetes & Endocrine Conference. The conference would feature stakeholders and experts from both fields learning more about upcoming trends, again making the centre a trendsetter and trendsetter in the health care industry.
There is a patient-driven strategy behind this. For ICLDEC CEO Mai Al Jaber, rebranding is not so much about names but more about new focus. With comprehensive single-stop diabetes and endocrine health treatment, the centre is continuing to embark on changing the face of healthcare in the UAE and globally.
