The program targets healthcare professionals and executives with emphasis on leadership, strategy, and operations management.

Key Background :

Asian Hospital and Medical Center, founded in 2002 in Muntinlupa, is currently a state-of-the-art tertiary health care facility in the Philippines. With its expanded facilities and patient-centric practice model, the hospital has been given several international accreditations testifying to its commitment to quality health care and global healthcare standards.

The Philippine healthcare sector has, in the previous years, fought with increasingly number of issues, from evolving technologies and patient expectations to regulation changes. They have solidified the call for those health leaders who are not only medically competent but also business-plan competent, knowledge of organizational dynamics, and skilled in moral decision-making.

Grasping this opportunity, Asian Hospital partnered with the Ateneo Graduate School of Business to roll out the MBA Health program. Instead of a traditional MBA, the specialty track addresses specialized needs of healthcare management. The program equips learners with the instruments to solve persistent industry challenges, treading the thin line between efficiency, sustainability, and patient care excellence.

The ritual signing was participated in by the principal representatives of the two organizations. The signs of commitment of the organization were Dr. Beaver Tamesis, Dr. Carmen Nievera, and Atty. Joey Torres. Present at the Ateneo leadership were Dean Dr. Jowett Cecilio F. Magsaysay and Programme Director Dr. Ayedee Ace Domingo, as a gesture of respect to the academic excellence on which the program is established.

At the forefront of the MBA Health programme is a vision to grow the future health leaders who will be able to transform institutions with innovative solutions and efficient management skills. Through leadership development where both organizational performance and patient outcome are prioritized, the programme aims to improve the quality of healthcare delivery in the Philippines.

The collaboration with Ateneo-Asian Hospital is a demonstration of long-term visioning of investing in future leaders in healthcare. With the nation’s first of its kind, the MBA Health program can be the prototype for healthcare leadership education in the country, merging business leadership with deeper appreciation of the practice of medicine.
